Ever think of showing your horse outside of 4-H? Well here's your chance! There are multiple riding clubs around the Lower Mainland, offering an abundance of different disciplines such as English, Western, Dressage, Jumper, Gymkhana, Reining and many more!

Located in Beautiful Delta BC, the Delta riding club offers English/Western shows, Percentage days, and Hunter shows.
Langley Riders Society: www.langleyriders.com
Located in Langley BC, the Langley Riders offer many different disciplines such as English/Western days, Hunter/Jumper days, Game days, and their summer Rodeo.

Located in Cloverdale BC, the BC sport horse offers two shows a year with English Flat classes and Halter classes. Classes offer include coloured, Canadian horses, sport horses and ponies.
Lower Mainland Quarter Horse Association: www.bcqha.com
Located in Langley BC, LMQHA offers three shows a year in Quarter horse classes in addition to the all-breed schooling show. This year at two of their shows they have put some Paint Classes, and there are as well Open Breed Classes offered.

For all the new members, here is a little write out on what you need to know about how to dress not just yourself for a horse show, but as well as your horse. Please read over because there are a few things members must know about when showing your horse.
English Attire
Rider:
Riding Show jacket
Helmet – Black is preferred
Stock shirt or Dickie (may be any colour)
Stock pin
Breeches or Jodhpurs of neutral color (olive green, beige or white) | NO COLOURS
Tall boots or Black/Brown Half chaps matching their riding boot
Hair to be tied back into a bun in a hair net
Gloves and Spurs optional
No whips allowed in Show hack/Road hack Classes | But are allowed in others.
Horse:
Showmanship | Horses to be shown in either a bridle or halter
Braiding or banding is optional but preferred
Leather bridle and reins – No flashes or figure eight bridles are permitted
Saddle pad are to be either white or black (White is preferred)
All purpose, Dressage or jumper saddles
No polos, splint boots, bell boots or any other leg protecting gear are allowed in the show ring
No Standing Martingales, running martingales, or draw reins in the show ring.
Western Attire
Rider:
Helmets must be worn for western classes | IT IS A 4-H RULE
Long sleeved show shirt/jacket/vest/sweater | May be as colourful or blinged out as you want
Chaps, Spurs, Belt and Gloves are optional
Hair to be in a hair net or just tied
Proper pants |Jeans are appropriate and must be over top of your boots (Blue or black.)
Horse:
Showmanship | Horses to be shown in a halter
Western saddle | Breastplate is optional
Any suitable western bit is permitted | any curb bit must have a curb chain
If rider is riding a junior horse (5 yrs old and under) he/she may use a snaffle/hackamore/bosal with two hands. Members in Unit 1 and 2 also have the permission to use two hands. All other riders must ride with one hand (preferably the left hand with rest of the reins on the right hand side) in split reins or rommels.
Reins to be leather or rawhide | Please refrain from rope
No Draw reins, Tie-downs, Martingales, Nosebands or Crops, leg protection (polos, splint boots, ect.) are permitted in the show ring.
